five guys burgers & fries

April 14, 2011

b:   You guys see that guy over there?

a:   yeah, the one with the caste around his neck ?

b:   I want to heal him, but how should I approach him ? I know there’s not a formula, but I fear it’s going to be awkward.

a:  Do you care for him as a person?

b:  yes

a: Then, it doesn’t matter what you say.  Just be yourself.   Show him that you care.

M. and me are doing tricep pull downs

A gentlemen approaches us:

“Are you using this handle?”

“It’s all yours

He’s like 6″1′ , 250 lbs, gruff and walks with a left prosthetic leg

(brain:  it’s not going to happen, he’s going to get offended and beat you up)

(spirit:  hehe, you don’t know who I know. I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do the things I am doing, he will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father.”)

running out of your mind

March 29, 2011

It’s been weeks since I’ve run. Today, I grabbed a lightbulb.

A key, along with the pacing and breathing (ref.  writing “being able to give it my all” Jan 9, 2011) , is running in the Spirit, aka what I call running out of your mind.

Today my muscles ached, abdomin cramps emerged , and my body felt out of shape. My legs burned even during my warm up.

I panted, stopped, stretched, and continued. The burning wasn’t slaked.

Isn’t this strange?

My spirit wants to run but body is saying “OUCH”, and my mind is saying “Stop! Stop! You’ll regret it!”

Turning point: Who am I going to listen to?

S.G. is home

Ring Ring

B. speaking

Hi my name is D., and I am the daughter of S.G.   Did you and S.  pray for my mother in the Valley Medical Center ?

Oh yes, Ms. S.G.

My father wanted to let you know that he died.

Oh, wow … I’m so sorry to hear that.

My father said that you two made my mom and him so happy and moved when you visited them this past Wednesday.  You were the only ministers that prayed with her; they felt so grateful for your compassion.

Soon after you left,  my mother started to have difficulty breathing. The doctor’s called my family and I to come, and we watched her, and she passed at 1:00 am.

My father said, you two were angels sent by God to bring to her home.  My father and mother are both followers of the Lord, and we know that she is in a better place.

Do you remember my father or mother ?

Yes, your mother was one of the sweetest and gentle spirited patients, and your father was so affectionate to her. He had a hearing aid and he would sit at your mom’s right side, holding her hand.

Yeah,  my parents were married for 66 years.

Wow …  I am … … so thankful for your father, mother, and you calling me to let me know this.  Can I ask, how is your father doing ?

He’s taking it really hard, he’s grieving, would you like to speak with him?  You might need to yell when you talk with, him because he has difficulty hearing, he’ll get new hearing aids soon.

Yes, I would be honored to

Papa, el ministerio quiere hablor contigo.

HELLO!  HELLO!  B.!?  MY WIFE AND I SO APPRECIATED YOU AND S. PRAYING FOR US!  YOU WERE SENT BY GOD!

Mr . G., S. and I were so blessed to meet you and your wife!

SORRY I CAN’T HEAR YOU!!

THANK YOU MR. G. SO MUCH FOR CALLING US, IT LIFTS US UP SO MUCH!

STILL CAN’T HEAR YOU!

My dad wants to talk with you another time, can he call you next week when he has his new hearing aids ?

Yes please!  Thank you so much,  I pray peace and comfort of God to you and your family.  Your mother is with him.

Thank you for the privilege to join you in caring for S.G. and her family.

earthquake safety shopping

    Home depot, Cupertino

Hi sir, where can I find a first aid kit ?

Oh, follow me, right over here

Great, where also, can I find gloves and duct tape ?

Gloves are on aisle 3 and duct tape is on aisle 16. Is there anythign else I can help you with ? (smile)

(Okay, here it comes, he might think I’m weird. But dude, this is for him, not for me)

Sir, I couldn’t help but notice that you walk with a limp, and you have some aids in your ears, do you have pain in your legs?

(chuckle) oh, my hips are both busted, my back hurts, and my hearing is shot because of old age.  These little guys help me to hear almost every natural sound.

Can I pray for you ?  (smile)

    Sure.

(Now there’s a group of 5 people behind me, listening to us, and waiting to talk to the guy)

In Jesus name, hips, bones, and muscles totally align, so that Doug can walk smoothly and upright. Pain leave back now, back straighten, ears I command you to hear now and recover

Thank you so much, I’m a believer myself.

Bless you. Check your ears, back, and hips whenever you’re free. I’ll let you get back to work.

    kid’s faith

    March 13, 2011

    Flea market, Snell and Capitol

Searching for headphones my eye caught a middle schooler in a wheel chair.  A  caste fortressed his right foot and he waited for his younger brother and mom.

Hmm … the kid’s dad might yell at me, will I scare him away? … Something reminds me of B.L.’s encouragement,  ”Be confident, offer healing, it’s not awkward.”

… “What happened to your leg?”

Dad says, “He was running, fell, and broke the bone in his foot”

“Does it hurt when you push on it even now ? “

    “yup”

“Let me pray for you”  (smile)

Dad says, “What do you think Ismael?  Can he pray for you.”

    Ismael, (smiles) “sure”

My hand is on his caste, “pain leave, bone heal, foot fully strengthen now”

“Can you put weight on your foot and see how it feels ?”

Israel looks me in the eye. He gets out of his wheel chair and stands up. (I’m shocked by his faith)

It feels a lot better! ” (smile)

“Do you feel any more pain ?”

    “A little”

Hand is on his caste again, “pain leave, bone heal, 100 %” , “Try again”

“I don’t feel any pain” (smile)

Dad, little brother, and mom are googly eyed now watching all of this.  They whisper “Camina, Camina, Camina” (“walk” in Spanish)

Ismael smiles, he’s self-conscience, and freezes.

“It’s okay. God’s healed you. Later whenever you’re comfortable try walking” (smile) .    “Thank you” (smile).

    it’s working !

    February 15, 2011

    Valley Medical Center

    K.  seemed an inch away from death.  Swollen eyes shut, puffy face, tubes all around, and out in a coma.  Last week we found him resting in the spinal cord injury unit.  His body squirmed as we prayed for him.

Today we entered the unit to a shocking sight.  Propped up, rosy cheeked, clear eyed,  K lounged in his bed, and watching TV.  Minus the tube in his throat and the caste around his neck, the spiderwebs chained around his body were removed!

He was a different man.  Day and night.  The man was almost dead, today he seemed like a spring chicken.  Unable to speak, we traded smiles and to our delight read beams from his lips and nods about how he was feeling.

He couldn’t see us last week, but he heard and remembered us.   Again, we offered him prayer. With bright eyes he offered us his hands.

    fractured foot healed !

    February 8, 2011

    Valley Medical Center, San Jose

This afternoon I was honored to learn from two spiritual moms, talk to strangers, and pray for the sick together.  These ladies have incredible love and faith to heal, and they have very big guts (boldness).

Walking around the hospital was crazy; like every person we saw, S.  and D. would warmly ask about their story and offer prayer.  If they didn’t need prayer, S  would ask about their family, and those family members would bring us to their family members rooms and let us pray for them!!   It was ridiculous.

De Anza college flea Market 2/5/2011

    C. and R. saw a young man with wrappings around his foot and crutches. They prayed for him and asked him to try out his foot. He said, “the pain is gone”. R said, “you don’t need those crutches anymore.” He said thanks and moved on (they thought, “maybe he’s just saying that to be nice”) . About 10 minutes later, C & R saw him from a distance trying out his foot. Eventually he completely removed his wrappings, gave his crutches to his dad, started walking, and then started running.

    Later that day

A woman walked with a cane.  K and C asked her why she used the cane. She had sciatic nerve pain that hindered her walking. The first time they prayed for her, she said “it feels a lot better!” and she tried walking upright.  They prayed for her again and she said the pain greatly decreased.
